Children's Easter Party Ideas
|
Sick of the traditional Easter egg hunt and want
something different this year? Why not make a party out of Easter
and plan a whole afternoon of fun and games? Follow some of the
ideas below and your party is sure to be a hit. Of course don't
forget to give out some prizes too!
Pin The Chick On The Egg
Hey, it's Easter so why not take proven fun games and adjust them
for the holiday. Draw a large Easter Egg on a piece of white bristol
board. Cut it out and pin it to the wall. Give every child a piece
of yellow construction paper and let them draw out their own chicks.
Younger kids won't make anything that looks like a chick but that's
ok, they'll still have lots of fun. When they're done let them cut
out their chick and tape some glue to the back of each. Blindfold
each child and let them take turns trying to get the chick in the
center of the egg, the closest chick wins.
Word Games
If you do a search on the internet you will likely find plenty of
word games for Easter. They have printable pages like word search
and word scramble that are grouped by age. Don't forget to give out
prizes to the winners.
Duck, Duck, Goose
This is an all-time classic game. Have the children sit in a large
circle. One child will walk behind the others tapping each “duck” on
the head until they decide which one of their friends will be the
“goose”. The “goose” has to get up and chase the first child. If the
first child makes it back to the empty spot without being touched,
then the second child becomes the new “duck”.
Easter Necklaces
Prepare this in advance of the party. Take construction paper in
Easter colors and cut into strips. Teach the children how easy it is
to link the paper together to form a chain. Do this by folding the
paper into a circle and dabbing a little glue where the ends meet.
For the next link, fold it around the circle already made and you're
starting to create a chain. Make it long enough for the kids to put
around their necks and wear their fun Easter necklaces.
Treats
Sandwiches, plenty of juice and some small deserts like cake or
pudding work great. Use cookie cutters to cut the sandwiches into
Easter shapes. For the dessert, try making lemon squares. You can
find good recipes on www.foodnetwork.com.
You don’t need too many activities to keep children happy at a
party. As long as they know it will end with an “egg”citing Easter
egg hunt, they will have fun!
