In college I made my first trek to Colorado with some girlfriends. A quick road trip. From Illinois.\u00a0 In a beat up old Fiat car… four of us and all our luggage.\u00a0 I’m surprised the thing made it up into the mountains. But it did.<\/p>\n

We drove to visit a friend of one of the girls who was going to school near Crested Butte.\u00a0 I still remember driving there.\u00a0 I was in awe.\u00a0 It was quite overwhelming.\u00a0 I never in my life had seen such tremendous beauty.\u00a0 The “kids” who lived there who were with us kept laughing at me.\u00a0 I was sad for them because they didn’t appreciate all the amazing beauty.\u00a0 I still get choked up about it.\u00a0 And I promised myself that some day I would go back.\u00a0 20 years later and I still haven’t been back. Until now…hopefully.<\/p>\n
