Kids love anything they can pop in their mouths or just pick up easily with their fingers. These little tomato bombs are a fabulous snack for kids of all ages and they’re easy to make ahead so you can have them on hand anytime the hunger bug strikes your little one (or you!)
Mini Tomatoes with Cottage Cheese
What You Need:
30 cherry tomatoes
1 C small curd cottage cheese
Optional Add ins
1 tsp. celery salt
1 tsp. mustard
¼ tsp. onion powder
How to Make It:
Slice the tops of the cherry tomatoes.
Scoop out the seeds with a small spoon and set tomatoes aside.
Place the cottage cheese in a mixing bowl.
Fold in any or all of the optional mix ins being sure to mix together well.
Fill each tomato with the mixture.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Don’t they sound yummy? You can get creative and make other add ins for your tomato bombs too – hummus, cream cheese with chipped beef, guacamole and more!
Just be careful – although adults can pop one of these in their mouths whole and be fine, little ones will still need to take several bites so they can get messy. This is definitely a “sit at the table” snack.
Enjoy!
