So, I got this book in the mail yesterday: Well, that’s actually a random shot of the inside pages of the book. So, how does one review a book that has very few – or really NO words at all? One gets creative! And that’s exactly what this book is all about! Q & A For Creatives is another book in the series from the folks at Potter Style, known for their series of Q&A books of all kinds. It’s a fun idea. But for someone like me who can only sketch stick figures and an occasional cat face, it’s a bit intimidating. 1 sketch per day for FOUR years. Ouch. Since most in my family aren’t much into drawing – and definitely NOT every day we thought of several other ways that this fun book could be used:
- Make it your guest book. Particularly if you have an open door with lots of people stopping by for overnight visits or dinners, keep this book handy and “require” that your guests not only sign in but answer the question with a drawing for that particular day.
- Family journal. Pass the journal around to various members of the family each day.
- Traveling journal. nike running homme Have your family do the sketches one week then send or pass it on to another family to enter their sketches for the next week. The problem with this is you lose the days while the book is in transit, so we’ll keep thinking on that to see how it might work.
- Bible journaling. There is a whole movement of people who are drawing, painting, sketching and all in their bibles. Some, however, would love to do that but don’t like the idea of adding all that medium to the pages of their bible. Fjällräven Kånken This book could be a companion book and record 4 years of inspiration. Just ignore the questions in the margin or find passages in your bible that would compliment the question of the day.
- Just one year. Have 4 different people fill in the boxes each day instead of just one box per year. That way it could be a one year record of 4 friends, 4 family members, 4 co-workers, etc., sketches.
- Once a week. This might be a bit heavy for some but instead of actually doing the drawing once a day, pick one day of the week to be your creative day and go through all 7 questions for that week on that one day.
I’m sure there are more ways too. Comment below if you think of some! Would I recommend this book? Maybe. I think there are certain people I know who might love the idea and it’s a really pretty book to leave out – so yeah, I think I would recommend it. Fjallraven Kanken Backpack Sale
